How To Install And Setup Record Player

Published

on

Unlike modern CD players, record player requires a lot of time and effort. However, if you are cared for it regularly and properly, you will not regret by the perfect sound quality and realistic feeling from classical music device. In this article, we will provide to you detailed instruction to install and maintain the best record players.

How To Operate Record Player:

First remove protecting cover of cartridge, put disc into the turntable, unlock the torn arm on the shelf, place the torn arm, start the record player and lower the needle. With the torn arm that are not from the same manufactures with record player, you need to manually lift the torn arm, lock the torn arm on the shelf and cover the stylus. If you forget this step, your stylus will be easily broken.

Adjusting To Limit Vibration:

The first thing you need to check is the turntable of record player. Although the vibration control system of the record player is good, a few vibrations will also come in and can damage the sound from low to medium-high frequencies. Using the pedestal to reduce vibration to the smallest level may reduce the negative impact on sound. This is even more important for a record player that does not have an anti-vibration system.

Touch your fingertip on the pedestal when the record player is playing, if you feel any vibration, it can seriously damage the sound. To see how great this effect is, use a doctor’s stethoscope against the base of the turntable. Or you can place a glass of water on the turntable and observe the water in the cup while playing the music device. It’s a simple and intuitive way to see how much mechanical and acoustic vibration can reach your system. Keep in mind that your hi-fi system is trying to recreate every tiny change to several millionths of an inch in the groove – about 1/1000 of a hair’s thickness. It is not a simple task in a vibrating environment.

There are several steps you can take to minimize the vibrations that occur during the operation of the record player system as well as the vibrations in the environment. First of all, the foot of the turntable must be placed on a stable surface – the inflated floor surface will not be able to create a solid foundation. If possible, fix the shelf on a brick wall or on a concrete floor. If your floor is made of wood, you may need to reinforce underneath wooden floor, such as adding a brace below the floor or cut a sawed sheet of 7-10cm thick to put under record player. If you cannot improve the floor, attach the shelf to a solid wall. You have to know that moving your record player to a more stable location can reduce vibration and, therefore, better sound quality.

Adjusting The Balance Of Record Player:

When a record player is not balanced, usually the operation of turntable, stylus, especially anti-skate, will be affected. Tilt problems cause the greatest impact on the pivoting torn arm, and the smallest on the linear tracking arm. Therefore make sure turntable and torn arm are in balance. Do not use the naked eye, instead you should use a bubble nivo slider to measure the balance. If the turntable is not balanced, adjust the anti-vibration system and adjust the height of each leg accordingly.

Setting Contact Of Stylus And Surface Of Disc:

  • You should use a sensitized electronic scales (accurate to the tens of grams) to measure the pressure of stylus on surface of the disc. The standard pressure is mentioned on the instruction book, with allowed tolerance of 0.1-0.5 grams.
  • Make sure the cartridge is properly balanced in the head sell with the sides of the cartridge are square to the head sell. When all adjustments are correct, carefully tighten the screw holding the cartridge.
  • There are two ways to adjust the azimuth. The first way is to hear by your own ears. Rotate the cartridge in very small angles in different directions, and listen and feel which location is the best. The downside of this method is that if you do not have experience then you will probably get confused. The second method is to use an electronic voltmeter and a LP frequency transmitter to measure and test the output signal between the two channels.

Maintaining Base Of The Turntable:

The only thing that you can do is oiling the base. Follow the manufacturer’s advice on the type of oild as well as the oiling frequency. Lift the disc upwards, swept the old oil with a dry cloth, then pour in new oil but be careful not to overflow.

Base of the turntable are usually significantly improved with a larger viscosity. However, if the transmission system is not very good, this lubricant can reduce the speed of the system. All manufacturers sell their own lubricants, but testing different types of oil is also fun task.

Setting Belt:

Some rubber belts should be powder coated, some should be dipped, some should be softened on the surface, and others need to be cleaned. You should ask and follow the advice from manufactures to find the suitable setting and maintaining of belts. Some types of discs, due to their motors, require slippage when starting or slowing down, so their belts are usually coated with melting powder. The long-term slipping process will wipe out the powder and then start grinding the belts. In that case, replace the new belts from the same manufacturer.

The speed of the turntable is sometimes controlled by replacing pulleys on the top of the motor. So make sure the system is installed correctly.

Some Memorable Notes To Clean Record Player:

  • Regularly check and clean surface of disc and stylus.
  • Carefully store discs to avoid dust and humidity. You should store discs in album and better to buy disc cleaning machine to clean surface of the disc.
  • Clean stylus by using a small brush which was dipped into special washing liquid. Remember to brush stylus along the spinning direction, no other way around.

At the BET Awards, Jack Harlow invites Brandy to rap over "First Class."

Brandy made an appearance on Jack Harlow’s song “First Class” during his performance at the BET Awards 2022.

Review of Jack Harlow’s “Come Home The Kids Miss You”: charming storyline and filler songs

At the ceremony on June 26, the Louisville rapper took the stage and opened with the song “Poison” from the album “Come Home The Kids Miss You.” DJ Drama was in charge of the DJ booth. Before ‘First Class,’ the second and concluding song of the set by Harlow, could begin, Lil Wayne also made an appearance to give his verse.

Harlow then stunned the audience by bringing out Brandy to give the hilarious freestyle diss that she penned and delivered over “First Class” last month. Brandy did the freestyle diss over the majority of the song alone with the assistance of vivacious backup dancers.

Brandy’s freestyle was inspired by Harlow’s inability to correctly identify Brandy’s 1998 song “Angel In Disguise” during a May radio interview on Hot 97, where he also admitted he was unaware that Ray J and Brandy were brothers.

In response to a popular video of Harlow’s appearance on Hot 97, Brandy tweeted that she would “murk this dude in rap at 43 on his own rhythms then sing [his] ass to sleep.” She rapped in the freestyle, which was uploaded to Hot 97’s SoundCloud, “Living legend, did I mention my resumé is great / The game need a breath of fresh air and I’m breathtaking.”

After the performance, Brandy thanked Harlow for making her appearance on stage, which she described as a “dream come true.” She posted a photo of herself, Lil Wayne, and Harlow to Instagram with the message, “Jack, thank you for such a great chance. adoration for life

The BET Awards also featured performances by Lizzo of her most recent single, “About Damn Time,” and a surprise appearance by Kanye West to present Diddy with a Lifetime Achievement Award. While presenting the prize for Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, Janelle Monáe also addressed the recent Roe v. Wade decision, stating, “Fuck you, Supreme Court.”

Following the release of “Nail Tech” in February, Harlow released “First Class” in April as the follow-up single from his second studio album, “Come Home The Kids Miss You.” In May, the sequel to 2020’s “That’s What They All Say” would be made available.

While the album displays Harlow’s preference for “straight bars, a feat [he] proves [he] is great at], the record doesn’t feature a bunch of seminal tracks, instead packing filler between his knockout singles like “First Class,” NME’s Kyann-Sian Williams wrote in a three-star review. There are a few gems to be found here and there, but the durability of this collection is in doubt.

Maynard James Keenan of Tool posts an emotional message about his wife's battle with breast cancer.

Maynard James Keenan, of Tool, revealed his wife’s battle with breast cancer in a moving post.

Puscifer: “When we finally join the dinosaurs, everything will be fine.”

On her birthday, August 12, the frontman used Instagram to share an explanation of her experiences.

In the Instagram post, Jennifer Lei Li Keenan disclosed that she first discovered a lump in November 2020 and received a diagnosis on Christmas Eve of that same year.

She didn’t give up in a heap of misery. She didn’t fly into a rage about being entitled. When his wife first learned of her diagnosis, he said, “She didn’t act out in any self destructive manner.

Instead, she listened to her doctors, asked the right questions, made a plan, and followed it. She also asked for assistance when she couldn’t complete a task on her own.

Before the chemotherapy could take her hair, she had it all cut off and had a matching wig made by our friend Brooke, he continued. After that, she started working. Nobody knew any better.

“She’s successfully navigated both the chemo and the surgery, and now begins the radiation,” Keenan continued as he praised his wife. Without complaining or whining, of course. She is my rock. She is my muse. She is my ALL. Be like Jen. Happy Birthday, My Love. Cheers to this one and many more.”

It comes during a tough year for the frontman who has twice contracted coronavirus.

The frontman disclosed back in October that he was still suffering from lung damage after he tested positive for coronavirus in February 2020 while touring with Tool in Australia and New Zealand.

Keenan later revealed that he battled COVID-19 for a second time late last year after contracting the disease in mid-November “and ending up in the ER on December 1”.

“Ugly, ugly. Couldn’t breathe,” Keenan continued about his debilitating second experience of coronavirus. “I could barely put two words together without going into a coughing fit, you know? It ended up kind of also progressing into pneumonia.

“So, if I stayed in the hospital, they said: ‘Okay, we can keep you here, but you’re fighting 12 other people for a bed and a ventilator we don’t have, so what do you want to do?’ I’m like: ‘Well, I need to breathe and I need to sleep.’”

Keenan added: “So, you’re just treating symptoms at that point. There’s nothing you can do other than treat the symptom, so for a real cough medicine – not the crap over-the-counter [medicine] – and then like an inhaler and some antibiotics to fight the pneumonia, and strap the fuck in.”

Sixth episode of "House of the Dragon" synopsis fully developed and energised

Good. Episode Epi. We begin in the pitch-black, with some weird panting sounds filling the silence. Given that this is the world of Game of Thrones, are these sexual acts? No, they are the other groaning activity; it is labour, and it is Rhaenyra, now performed by Emma D’Arcy, ten years after we last saw her. The future is when we are.

The birth of this kid, Rhaenyra’s third male, goes relatively well in contrast to so many others in House of the Dragon. As Rhaenyra makes the arduous journey to see Queen Alicent (Olivia Cooke), who has asked to see the infant, she is bleeding profusely and says to her husband Laenor (John Macmillan), “I’m glad I’m not a woman. Viserys (Paddy Considine), who has since completely lost his hideous left arm, inquires as to the baby’s name. Before Rhaenyra has a chance to speak, Laenor adds, “Joffrey.” (Joffrey was, of course, Laenor’s deceased boyfriend.) Laenor is made fun of by Alicent, who suggests that if he persists, he might succeed in having a child who looks like him.

When Ser Harwin Strong (Ryan Corr), the leader of The City Watch, cradles the infant, we learn the true father of the child—and likely of all Rhaenyra’s lads. He and Rhaenyra don’t take great measures to conceal what is truly happening here—something that will come back to bother them.

Aegon (Ty Tennant, son of David and Georgia), Viserys’ first son, torments Aemond (Leo Ashton), his half-brother, by collaborating with Jacaerys (Leo Hart), Rhaenyra’s oldest son, to present a pig that they have outfitted to look like a dragon. This leads to some childish drama down in the dragon pit. (Side note: Due to their muddled names and mixed-up paternity, it can be challenging to remember which of these sons is whose. The characters shouldn’t simply be understandable to fans of Game of Thrones.) Alicent attempts to convince Viserys that Rhaenyra continually giving birth to sons that don’t resemble Laenor by channelling her rage at this. Viserys, who doesn’t want to see the reality, claims that nature is a work of enigmatic design. “Don’t bring this up again.”

Aegon is confronted by his mother Alicent for being such a moron: if Rhaenyra becomes queen, he and his brother Aemond could be killed because of their claims to the throne. For some reason, we find Aegon butt-naked wanking out of a window.

Next, head over to Pentos, where Daemon and his wife Laena (Nanna Blondell) are having a blast riding dragons around. In the world of Game of Thrones, characters having a good time doesn’t necessarily mean good things. They are later promised an unconditional welcome in Pentos at dinner in exchange for lending their dragons to the fight against the Triarchy, which appears to be eager for war. However, Laena desires that her unborn child be born in Driftmark, where she herself was born.

Jacaerys fights Aegon while being coached by the erratic Ser Criston Cole (Fabien Frankel). Harwin repeatedly punches Criston in the face after he claims that Harwin’s treatment of Jacaerys resembles the treatment a father would give a son. Laenor declares to Rhaenyra that he wants to engage in naval combat once more in another scene. Rhaenyra orders him to remain since she is tired of him. Later, she offers to wed Jacaerys and Helaena, Alicent’s daughter, uniting the feuding families “once and for all.”

Gavin Spokes’ character, Lyonel Strong, the King’s Hand, seeks to resign out of shame for what his son committed, but Viserys prevents him from doing so. He must instead take Harwin to Harrenhal to return home. Harwin’s brother Larys (Matthew Needham) recruits a gang of criminals to burn down Harrenhal, killing Harwin and his father, seeing the distress Harwin is inflicting Alicent. In order to prevent them from discussing their crime, he has his tongue amputated.

We ultimately travel to Pentos, where Laena doesn’t appear to have a chance of surviving childbirth, adding much more bloodshed. She walks onto the shore and asks her dragon to burn her alive after realising it’s either her or the baby. Vhagar does so, but one of the series’ most heartbreaking moments so far is the anguished sight in his eyes.
